The new eAssistant module Timing belt allows the definition and
calculation of a complete belt drive. The number of teeth is
determined and the belt width is dimensioned. The user can add several
pulleys. Hence, a multiple-shaft gear drive is possible. The module includes
a selection of belts and various dimensioning features.
After the specification of diameter, drive power and speed, the user gets
a suggestion of all possible kind of belt types in a table.

The calculations are based on "Zahnriemengetriebe - Eigenschaften, Normung,
Berechnung, Gestaltung", Nagel, Hanser Verlag 2008. This module was
developed in a close cooperation with Mr. Dr. Thomas Nagel
(Dresden University of Technology) and offers, for the first time,
a calculation method, independently from a certain manufacturer.
