Bolt calculation according VDI 2230

Features

  • Single-bolted joints under axial and transverse load and flange connections (multi-bolted) can be determined.
  • Bolted joints can be defined according to individual requirements.
  • Different tightening techniques are available, for example angle-controlled and yield-controlled tightening.
  • Based on the selected tightening technique, the tightening factor is set automatically.
  • The module provides the possibility to modify the utilization of the yield point (e.g., for 100 percent instead of 90 percent).
  • Tapped thread joints and through bolted joints can be selected from a drop-down menu.
  • Selection of clamped parts with basic solid geometry, the load introduction and force application. Illustrations help to better understand the geometry.
  • The software module proposes a nominal diameter.
  • All important results will be calculated during every input and will be displayed in the result panel.
  • Detailed calculation report in HTML and PDF format

Desciption

The calculation module allows to determine single-bolted joints under axial and transverse load (according to VDI 2230-1) and flange connections (multi-bolted) (according to VDI 2230-2). The user can define bolted joints as necessary to meet special requirements.

A drop-down menu allows to select different tightening techniques, for example angle-controlled and yield-controlled tightening. Based on the selected tightening technique, the tightening factor will be set automatically. The tightening factor can also be specified individually. The module provides the possibility to modify the utilization of the yield point, e.g., for 100 percent instead of 90 percent. Tapped thread joints and through bolted joints can be selected from a drop-down menu and can then be configured fast and easily.

The user can choose clamped parts and can define the basic solid geometry, the load introduction and force application. Both centric and eccentric tensions are supported. The calculation module proposes a nominal diameter. Illustrations help to better understand the geometry. A suggestion function is also available for selecting the nominal bolt diameter.

All important results are displayed directly in the results overview of the calculation module. After completing the calculation, the user can generate a report. The report contains all relevant input data and results and is available in HTML as well as PDF format.
