Conversion of hardness values according to DIN 50150, edition 2000

Using this module, it is possible to convert different hardness values into each other. The hardness values also can be determined by the input of the tensile strength. Different kind of materials can be selected for the calculation:

  • Unalloyed and alloy-treated steels and cast steel (tab. A.1)
  • Heat-treated steel (heat-treated) (tab. B.2)
  • Heat-treated steel (untreated, spheroidized/normalized) (tab. B.3)
  • Heat-treated steel (hardened) (tab. B.4)
  • Cold tool steels (hardened and drawed) (tab. C.2)
  • High-speed tool steels (tab. D.2)

The program provides the different hardness values depending on the selected kind of material:

  • Vickers hardness HV, HV5, HV10
  • Brinell hardness HB
  • Brinell hardness (steel ball) HBS
  • Brinell hardness (hard metal ball) HBW
  • Rockwell hardness HRB, HRF, HRC, HRA, HRD, HR15N, HR30N, HR45N, HR15T, HR30T and HR45T
